Our Church Working For CHRIST
Our modest church is always hard at work. We are constantly trying to acomplish the will of Christ by caring for his flock. These are some of the missions we are involved in trying to acomplish that goal.
In The Local Community
Our community food closet collects all sorts of foods, including canned meats, vegetables, pastas and sauces, peanut butter, coffee, tea and almost any other non-perishable foods, to be given out to needy families in the Fairview area all year round.
We support Neighborhood Center, Inc. a Christian, non-profit social service agency that witnesses to the love of God and the reconciling power of Jesus Christ, ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of children, youth, families and individuals in the city of Camden, NJ.
For The Children
We provide a space for Kids Alley, an after school learning environment, for approximatly 30 children every weekday, and about 90 on Saturdays, keeping them off the streets, safe and giving them God’s Word.
Throughout the Country
We collect clothing, toys, tools, dishes, furniture and many other things for the Red Bird Mission at Henderson Settlement in Frakes Kentucky. We have delivered 6 trailer loads in the past 15 months and have several more ready to go at this time.
Our Christmas in May - Collects all sorts of non-violent toys for under privileged children in the Henderson Mission area of Kentucky to be given out at Christmas.
Other Mission Fields
Our Christmas Club - Buys new, non-violent toys to be given out to children of needy families in Fairview at Christmas.
We collect socks and underwear for AIDS affected children in the Camden area.
We donate toys to children in area hospitals.
We often provide entertainment such as luncheons followed by a Live Christian Drama or Christian Movies with popcorn and refreshments at no charge.
We provide transportation to those who otherwise would not be able to attend services, and also provide transportation for other things as well, such as doctor visits, grocery shopping, etc.
Our church works with the area ministerial group of churches to make up food baskets for needy families for Thanksgiving and Christmas (65 families this year alone, including turkeys), the group also plans activities during the year such as a Good Friday Procession through the village, Pentecost service in the town square including refreshments, Thanksgiving Eve services, planning the 4th of July parade and various other gatherings.
We have many group functions as well, such as bowling every 3rd Saturday of the month, trips to ball games such as the Camden River Sharks, summer picnics and organized bus trips.
We are providing a meeting place for another local church that has major problems with their heat and electrical systems and is having financial problems and can’t afford the repairs at this time.
We support Ranch Hope and Victory House for Girls.
We have several missionaries that travel around the Eastern United States, donating their time and services doing home repairs in depressed areas.
In the recent past we have collected for Katrina and Rita relief and the New Orleans area flood victims.
Throughout the world
We have collected for the Tsunami relief.
We purchased and mailed 16 new NIV Bibles and 1 study Bible to a pastor in India to use as he travels about the country side to preach in English.
